Meg with a cicada

Welcome cicadas! We've got lots of cicadas here, but we're being told this pretty light for the 17 yr cicadas, so we're expecting more soon. Meg is loving it. She is always covered with cicadas when we go outside now.

This weekend we kept things pretty low key. Saturday's soccer game was rained out .Sunday we went to IKEA and then went to a bbq. Monday we made our very own art garden.

Wedding Bells

This weekend a close family friend, Beth Koehler, married Scott Richardson. We attended the wedding and reception in West Lafayette on Saturday. Meg's favorite part of the wedding was the "Chicken Dance". Zach's favorite part was dancing. They both enjoyed going swimming Sunday morning too.

Mother's Day Kisses

We hope all of the mothers out there had a great mothers day. We had a fun week. Wednesday Meg's class had a Mother's Luncheon. Our neighbor, Dale, went for Meg. Then Thursday Meg's class had a field trip to the Field Museum. Mom picked her up at the end of the trip and she got to visit work and ride the train home. Saturday Meg had a soccer game. Sunday we visited the Arboretum and had some friends over for dinner.

Little Artists

Meg DrawingZach DrawingWe had a busy week and didn't take any pictures. So lets take this opportunity to show off some of the kid's art work. The pictures to the left are from Meg. She drew them at church and then colored them in when we got home. One is a self portrait and the other is Zach in the morning.

Blue Knight Auction Group

This weekend we headed to Lafayette for the 14th Annual Blue Knight Auction. We had some time to kill when we arrived so we took the kids to fly kites. It was the perfect day for it. The auction was fun and the decorations looked amazing. Mom did a great job. The kids enjoyed their night with a babysitter.

Sunday we left early to get back for soccer. This is an informal league where Zach can play too. He was very excited to get to play soccer. Sunday afternoon we worked on the yard. We've had so much rain lately that the lawn looks great!

The Group of Hunters

We had another busy Easter. Saturday morning we headed down to Indy for the McLean family egg hunt. Because it was so cold the hunt was quick but the fun started when all the kids used their bunny bucks to buy things at the bunny store.
Back in Lafayette we met Josh and his new puppy Bruno. He is a Great Dane and the Meg loved him and Zach headed to higher ground on the sofa. The next morning the kids last hunt of Easter was on and then it was off to church.

Happy Easter everybody.

Getting Ready for Easter

Friday night we had a fun get together with some other families from Meg's class. We all went to dinner together. I didn't even know Applebees would take a reservation for 23!

Saturday we went to the LaGrange Easter Egg hunt. They moved it indoors because we've had alot of rain lately. The kids had a good time. The other kids in the picture are Kyle and Kaitlyn, classmates of Meg.

Sunday we met Christa, Bill and Will at the Botanical Gardens. The weather looked threatening, but it never did rain on us.
