Sunday Meg was invited to play on the U10 "A" team. She did a great job playing in a very competitive and aggressive game. It will definitely boost her confidence and make her even more of an asset for her soccer team.

Meg's team won both games in the Galaxy Soccer tournament today. Meg scored a goal in each game and the team looked great. We'll be back on the field at 8am Sunday (lucky us).
Grandma and Grandpa McLean came up to watch Meg and Zach play soccer today. They got to see Zach's team win and traveled with us to watch Meg's team play their first game of the Galaxy tournament, which they won.
Zach had his first game of the Fall and Meg's team had their first non-tournament game. Zach's team won, while Meg's lost.
This weekend Meg had her first tournament. She volunteered to be goalie twice and did a great job making a ton of saves in her first game, which they won. They lost their second game, but not by much. Sunday morning we faced a really good team and the girls held their own. Meg was on goal again, and they scored 2 goals on her. Her team lost 1-3, but that was much better than the previous opponents who had lost to that team 0-5 and 0-7. We're looking forward to a soccer filled Fall.
The kids had a great time this week at soccer camp, despite the heat. They learned alot from some great coaches.
Saturday we enjoyed getting to watch soccer and not worrying about rain. Meg and Zach both had good games. Zach's team lost 1-5 while Meg's team won 5-2. Meg was quite the superstar scoring a goal and a number of assists.
Saturday morning Spring Soccer kicked off. The kids did great at their games. Zach played hard and did some great defense. Meg scored a goal at her game and was all over the field. Its going to be a great season!
This weekend was supposed to be a lot busier...
Meg scored 2 goals at her game on Saturday, leading her team to a 3-1 win.
Zach's soccer skills were back this week. He scored a goal was great on defense.
It may be blurry, but its Meg in the air kicking her first of three goals on Saturday! Meg had a great game, she was all over the field stealing the ball and putting it in the goal.
Saturday was the last day of AYSO spring soccer. The kids were excited to have a fan club cheering them on. Meg has really taken off in soccer this year and Zach loved his first year of soccer, scoring 2-7 goals at each game.
Zach was beaming after scoring another goal. I think he scored 4 goals on Saturday. He loves playing soccer.
This week Meg's Purple Panthers took on a team with a familiar face from school, Meg's friend Kelly. Kelly did a good job defending the 4 or 5 breakaways that Meg had.
AYSO soccer is once again in full swing. Meg's Purple Panthers ended their first game in a 1 to 1 tie. It took a quarter for the girls to shake off the rust but once they did they were working well as a team. Meg started the game off as goalie and had a save. Then to start the 2nd half she was on offense where she had a few good break-aways and passes.
I have to say that we had a wonderful soccer season, but I'm happy its over. It was pretty cold at the game this week, but the kids did great. Meg had her best game, she was quick and right on the ball the whole first quarter. Zach scored his team's only goal and did a great job on defense as well.
Meg and Zach both had 8:15am soccer games this week. They are both doing great. Meg has a very good team, she says they are undefeated. Zach does his best to lead his team to victory, although it can be tough when your teammates score goals for the other team!
Saturday Grandma came up to visit and watch the kids on Columbus Day. Zach did great at his soccer game and he had his own cheering section as Gene and Dale came to watch the game.
This week it was Meg's turn to be goalie. U-7 is the lowest age group to have goalies, so its a new experience for everyone on the team. The first time an opponent came towards Meg to score she tried to block only with her feet and missed. But after that she started picking up the ball when it came toward her and did a great job.
