Vacation - Point Betsie

The Beach at Point BetsieThursday night we did a fire on the beach at Point Betsie, thus checking off an item that had been on Chris' to do list for many years. We watched the sunset, made rock art and toasted marshmallows for s'mores with the lighthouse for a backdrop, it was very beautiful.

Vacation - Platte Lake

IMG_2965Early Saturday morning we left the flooded lands of Brookfield and headed north. We met the Spanglers, Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Julie at Arcadia Daze on the way up. That night Uncle Todd, Aunt Debbie and Cousin Tanner joined us for dinner and took the kids kneeboarding.

Sunday after Mass we relaxed at Empire's Beach and that night the kids got to go kneeboarding again. This time Meg was quite the trickster. She figured out how to do a 360 on the kneeboard and proceeded to do 7 of them!

Going back in time

Running to the log barnThe Sunday of Memorial Day we headed down to Indianapolis to visit Connor Prairie with the Spangle Cousins. After some delicious Subway sandwiches we headed into the time machine and found ourselves in 1800 Indiana. Some of the adventures we took on the trip was helping out a young farm boy groom find his best man and get married, played hoop and stick, explored barns and farmhouses, and brushed some farm animals.

It was a fun trip and the kids are very ready to head back for a week summer camp at Connor Prairie in July.

Christmas Eve with the Cousins

IMG_6037Aren't they cute? The girls were ready for pictures Wednesday night. Maybe that's because they knew that once the pictures were done, they got to open presents.

Vacation Day 3

Vacation Day 3-RiversideMonday was a relaxing day. We spent most of the day at the cottage. For dessert we took Great-Grandma to get ice cream at Riverside. That night we watched the sunset on the beach by the Pointe Betsie Lighthouse. Meg and Zach each made artwork on the beach, the difference in the 2 pieces is pretty comical.

The Group of Hunters

We had another busy Easter. Saturday morning we headed down to Indy for the McLean family egg hunt. Because it was so cold the hunt was quick but the fun started when all the kids used their bunny bucks to buy things at the bunny store.
Back in Lafayette we met Josh and his new puppy Bruno. He is a Great Dane and the Meg loved him and Zach headed to higher ground on the sofa. The next morning the kids last hunt of Easter was on and then it was off to church.

Happy Easter everybody.
