Over the weekend we all sat down and had some family art time. We each had to color in at least 2 eggs. here are the results.

Wednesday morning Chris and the kids joined Grandma Judy and Aunt Julie on their trip to Pointe Betsie.
Monday was a relaxing day. We spent most of the day at the cottage. For dessert we took Great-Grandma to get ice cream at Riverside. That night we watched the sunset on the beach by the Pointe Betsie Lighthouse. Meg and Zach each made artwork on the beach, the difference in the 2 pieces is pretty comical.

This weekend we headed over to the Hammel Family zoo to escape the cold (-22 with wind chill yikes!). Meg and Zach had a great time playing dress up. Meg was a doctor working hard on a young horse. Zach after saving a dog's life went back to working the phones as the Zoo Director.
Sunday we went to the Garfield Park Conservatory to check out their holiday flower show. The show featured beautiful white poinsettias, other white blooming plants and bulbs, and plants with silver foliage. The conservatory is having its 100th birthday soon, so they had the kids make birthday hats. We also took some photos for the Christmas card and enjoyed the break from the cold.

Last week we had crazy weather. It rained every day. Thursday we had winds up to 70 mph and too much rain. Our backyard was actually flooded. We had a little seepage into the basement, but at least we didn't lose power in the thunderstorms (lots of people did).
This weekend Aunt Margaret and Allison came to visit and check out colleges. Saturday we took them to the Niki in the Garden exhibit at the Garfield Conservatory. Sunday we toured Northwestern University and then went to see Blue Man Group. Meg came along and loved it.
Today was Meg's open house at school. Tuesday will be her first day of school.

We had a busy week and didn't take any pictures. So lets take this opportunity to show off some of the kid's art work. The pictures to the left are from Meg. She drew them at church and then colored them in when we got home. One is a self portrait and the other is Zach in the morning.
Grandma and Grandpa Mclean Came up for the Annual Ice Sculpture Festival in Downers Grove. MEg and ZAch had a great time showing off all their favorite sculptures.
