We had a wonderful holiday. Christmas Eve the kids did some sledding with their cousins in Indy and then celebrated with the McLean clan. Christmas day was in Lafayette with Grandma Chris and Uncle Bobby who flew in from Florida. Santa was very generous this year ;)
Elizabeth's brother Bobby graduated from Purdue this afternoon. Relatives and friends from St. Louis, Indianapolis and Lafayette joined us at the open house after graduation. Way to go Bobby, we know you're ready for the warm Florida ready after this snowy weekend.
It rained all day on Saturday so we took the kids to Monkey Joe's to run them around and use up some of their energy. They had a great time on all of the inflatables. When we got back to Grandma's we were joined by Mary Ann, Kendra, her Mom, and Josh. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed talking with everyone. Saturday night we caught the Purdue fireworks from the top of a parking garage. The rain stopped just in time for the show.
Before heading home on Sunday we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather and check out the Tippecanoe Battlefield.
We headed down to Purdue this 4th of July weekend. We had fun cooking out with Kendra and her Mom. Then we headed over to see the fireworks by Slayter Center with Grandma and Uncle Bobby. Saturday we enjoyed the Purdue fountains and saw the new Armstrong Hall. That night we went to see Josh's house. The kids got to ride on a tractor and make s'mores. We had a great time!
This weekend our adventures took us down to West Lafayette for the annual Blue Night Auction. While Grandma and Elizabeth got all dolled up for the big event Uncle Bobby and Chris took Meg and Zach to the Celery Bog for a little hiking and of course treasure hunting (aka geocaching).
Wednesday
- Meg opened presents before school
- Celebrated at school with her class
- Celebrated after school with friends
- Had a Halloween party at gymnastics
- Halloween Birthday Party/Sleepover
- Purdue-Northwestern Game
- Annual McLean Family Pumpkin Carving

Sunday morning we went to the playground. The monkey bars at the were too high for Meg to reach standing on the platform, so she climbed up to get higher and then jumped off trying to catch the monkeybar in mid-air. She missed, obviously, and fell to the ground pretty hard, fracturing her wrist. Meg will be in a cast for 3 weeks. She gets it off July 30th.
This weekend a close family friend, Beth Koehler, married Scott Richardson. We attended the wedding and reception in West Lafayette on Saturday. Meg's favorite part of the wedding was the "Chicken Dance". Zach's favorite part was dancing. They both enjoyed going swimming Sunday morning too.
This weekend we headed to Lafayette for the 14th Annual Blue Knight Auction. We had some time to kill when we arrived so we took the kids to fly kites. It was the perfect day for it. The auction was fun and the decorations looked amazing. Mom did a great job. The kids enjoyed their night with a babysitter.
