First day of Kindergarten

Zach was pretty excited to start Kindergarten today. He can't wait to see all of his friends again. We were happy to see that he has the same teacher Meg did for Kindergarten, Mrs. Bentley. He's going to have a great year!

Meg's first day of 2nd grade

Meg is looking forward to another great year at Saint Cletus.

She had a great summer with a lot of highlights :
• Summer Camp at the Max
• A lot of swimming
• Visiting Great grandma
• Discovering the fun that is Frisbee golf
• Spending a week in Indianapolis with Grandma And Grandpa McLean and going to Conner Prairie summer camp.

Meg, the future videographer. She might have to learn not to sing along with the performers, but for now its just too cute!

Summerpalooza Fun

Saturday we had a great time at the Oak Brook Summerpalooza. They had pony rides, face painting, carnival games and both kids reach ed the top of the rock climbing wall.

Sunday the big news was that Zach jumped off the diving board for the first time.

Zach's in the Tribune

Saturday morning Grandma Chris came up to visit. We went to the Bears Family Day with a group of friends. We had front row seats right where the players entered the field. The sun was hot, but we had a lot of fun. Sunday morning we found out that Zach's picture was on the front page of the Chicago Tribune Sports page. That's him, the blur in the bottom right. Meg's arm is on the far left. In between them are our friends, the Tenutos.

Michigan Vacation 2009

We had a great vacation with lots of fun new experiences.
- Saturday we met the Spangler Crew at Arcadia Daze. That night we had a campfire and the kids played with sparklers for the first time.
- Monday we visited Glen Haven where we found great beach by the life saving station. The kids loved climbing the dune and then we all enjoyed a monster sundae at the Cherry Republic.
- Tuesday we did some frisbee golf at Crystal Mountain.
- Wednesday we climbed the sleeping bear dunes and went kayaking for the first time.
- Thursday we went to a u-pick berry farm for the first time. That night we had s'mores on the campfire.
- Friday we went to Pointe Betsie with Grandma Judy and Aunt Julie. Meg went up in the Lighthouse for the first time.
- Saturday we drove home and had lunch at Red Robin (another first).
