Taking a Hiking in Teason Woods

Hiking Teason WoodsWe had some projects we were working on around the house, but the sky was so beautiful we had to start the day with an adventure. we packed up and headed south to Teason woods in the Forest Preserves of Cook County. We had a nice hike where the big moment was climbing the steps of the old Tobaggon runs. Apparently, they have removed the slides and put in nice steps so people come to climb the steps for a works out. We made it to the top and I can understand why people use this as a way to get your heart rate up!

On our way back to the car we saw a turkey vulture. The kidos found that to be pretty cool.

Frisbee Golf

On Sunday Chris and the kids played there first game of Frisbee golf. It was a heck of a lot of fun! Both Meg and Zach's throws steadily improved.
We played at Mayfair Park in Westchester. The course was designed and built as part of an Eagle scout project. The holes were mostly Par 3s so it was a good starter course for Meg and Zach.

4th of July

Group with ChrisIt rained all day on Saturday so we took the kids to Monkey Joe's to run them around and use up some of their energy. They had a great time on all of the inflatables. When we got back to Grandma's we were joined by Mary Ann, Kendra, her Mom, and Josh. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed talking with everyone. Saturday night we caught the Purdue fireworks from the top of a parking garage. The rain stopped just in time for the show.

Sunday we took Meg and Zach down to Grandma and Grandpa McLeans where they will be staying this week while they go to Conner Prairie Summer Camp. We're looking forward to hearing about all of their fun.
