Happy Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween 2008Halloween was kind of a whirlwind day. Chris took the day off to get the car fixed. He then helped out at the St. Cletus Halloween Parties. After the parties he picked up the car and we met at home to trick or treat at the neighbors. A little later we went trick or treating with some friends over in LaGrange. After hanging out with friends we started for Lafayette. What a day!

Happy 7th Birthday Meg!

IMG_5111.JPGMeg had a wonderful birthday weekend. Thursday she celebrated her birthday at school. She brought in cookies and the kids all made her birthday cards. That night we had Gene and Dale over for ice cream and Meg opened her presents.

Friday the kids were out of school. We went with a big group to see High School Musical 3 and then out to lunch. That night Meg had a Girl Scout Sock Hop and Zach met some friends at a local Halloweenn party.

Saturday after Mass we drove to Lafayette and celebrated with Grandma Goellner and Uncle Bobby. Somehow we didn't their picture, but you can see the cute brownie cake here.

Meg had a great time, but she was exhausted Monday morning. She has a field trip today, so it will be another fun day for her.

Last Fall Soccer Game

IMG_5093.JPGI have to say that we had a wonderful soccer season, but I'm happy its over. It was pretty cold at the game this week, but the kids did great. Meg had her best game, she was quick and right on the ball the whole first quarter. Zach scored his team's only goal and did a great job on defense as well.

Oktoberfest

Fräuleins with the Principal and PastorSt. Cletus held its Inaugural Oktoberfest on Saturday. After the kids soccer games we headed over to the tent to start decorating for the event. Around 1:30 we came home for a little rest before heading back at 5pm so Elizabeth could sing at Mass while Chris helped them get ready for the event.

My friend Amy and I borrowed costumes from 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and were the hit of the party. In this picture we are standing with the Principal and the Pastor. Later that night they donned costumes as well and went table to table collecting money in the usher baskets, it was a riot!

Another Soccer Saturday

IMG_4950.JPGMeg and Zach both had 8:15am soccer games this week. They are both doing great. Meg has a very good team, she says they are undefeated. Zach does his best to lead his team to victory, although it can be tough when your teammates score goals for the other team!

Next week we'll have our last fall soccer games.

Birthday Boy

IMG_4737.JPGToday was Chris's birthday. We went out for breakfast at a new diner, Dizzy's. It was a cute little place and we had a nice time there. The kids loved the jukebox. That afternoon we went to a birthday party for one of the kids in Zach's class at Pump it Up, always a good time.

Thank you for everyone who sent cards and gifts and those who called with well-wishes!

Meg's 1st game as goalie

1st game at goalieThis week it was Meg's turn to be goalie. U-7 is the lowest age group to have goalies, so its a new experience for everyone on the team. The first time an opponent came towards Meg to score she tried to block only with her feet and missed. But after that she started picking up the ball when it came toward her and did a great job.

Zach was fighting a cold and didn't want to run at his game but he still scored a goal, so to him it was a success!
