Meg goes to 1st Grade

Today is Meg's 1st day of school. She is in 1st grade!!!

Meg told me today that she "can't wait to get to wear her uniform." We'll see if she still feels that way in a few years :)

Zach starts tomorrow at St. Cletus.

Grandma's Visit

Grandma came up to help us with the kids on Sunday. We took her out for a birthday dinner Sunday night and then she took Meg to her first day of school on Monday. Zach has his first day on Tuesday.

The Sylvie's

Friday night we went to Brookfest. The dad of one of the girls in Zach's class is in the band that was playing, The Sylvies. Her Mom even sang with the band for a couple songs. We had a great time there.

Morton Arboretum

Sunday we took one of Meg's friends to the Arboretum. It had been a while since we visited. The kids loved showing Alexa around. It was fun.

Party People

Friday night we took the kids to see Star Wars: Clone Wars with a couple of their friends. The kids loved it. Zach is sure that he's a jedi knight now. He and the other 2 boys were dualing with lightsabers all night.

Saturday we first went to a birthday party for one of the girls in Zach's class. The kids had fun at the splash park. At 2 we had another party. This one was a pool party with Elizabeth's work friends. Meg was quite the fish. She was in the pool almost 6 hours. We all had a great time. Around 8 we stopped by another party that featured a sing-a-long with a piano player. Unfortunately, it was late and the kids were tired so we left that party early and headed home.

It was quite the Saturday. Thank goodness Elizabeth wasn't cantoring until 9:30 Mass on Sunday. Any earlier and we would've been in trouble :)

Setting up for Polo

Sunday we walked around the Oakbrook Polo field as they were getting ready for the days match. The kids enjoyed seeing the horses.

Vacation Day 8

Saturday morning we packed up and said goodbye to Great-Grandma and the cottage. On the way home we stopped at the Ludington State Park and Lighthouse, Reenders Blueberry Farm, and the South Haven Lighthouse.

Vacation Day 7

Friday we checked out the Crystal Lake Playground and Beach. Meg took the pictures of Zach. That afternoon we did some Mini-Golf. Meg did pretty well with it, but Zach quickly lost interest. Again we had a nice sunset on Platte Lake.
