Memorial Day Fun

We had a great Memorial Day weekend.

Saturday Meg had a birthday party at Build-a-Bear, so she was on cloud nine. I should mention that Meg was hurt by a rogue swing on Saturday. Zach pushed the swing. Unfortunately, Meg was in its path and it hit above her eye. She's doing ok, we opted for the butterfly bandaid instead of the emergency room.

Sunday Gene and Dale watched the kids while we went to see Avenue Q. We highly recommend it, it was hilarious.

Monday we met some friends at the park to fly kites and play on the playground. In the afternoon we spent time at the pool.

Big Bugs are here

ant attack 1Sunday we met Christa, Bill, Will, and Anna Marie at the Morton Arboretum. They have a new exhibit "Big Bugs" which was really impressive. The kids had fun checking out the bugs and showing Will around the children's garden.

Go Green Lightning Snakes

megGrandma Chris was lucky enough to see Meg's team win this week. The Green Lightning Snakes had a great game. Everyone on the team did their part, they held the opposing team to only one goal. After the game we did some gardening. Saturday evening we went to Mass and then went out with the choir to celebrate the end of the choir year while Grandma watched Meg and Zach.

Zach Describes His Painting

Sunday afternoon it was rainy and down right nasty in the Chicagoland area, so we stayed inside and the kids did some painting. Zach had a very involved story for his painting involving: a person, a tornado, monsterland, a cowboy, a shark, a daring escape, and a little boys imagination.
Meg also had one of her beautiful and colorful flower paintings.
Here she is describing hers.

Kindergarten Mother's Tea

Mothers TeaFriday Meg's class invited all of the mothers to join them for tea and cookies. They sang "A you're Adorable...", "I love you, a bushel and a peck..." and some other very cute songs. I was very glad I was there to see her class at their most adorable.

Soccer Season is Here!

Journal 050308 - Game 2Its spring and soccer is in full spring. Meg's AYSO season has started and St. Cletus soccer starts today. Meg did a great job at her first game. She had alot of great defensive stops and is very good getting the ball down the field. Zach can't wait to get in the game. We signed him up yesterday to be on his own AYSO team in the fall.
