Geocaching in the Celery Bog

Geocaching in the Celery BogThis weekend our adventures took us down to West Lafayette for the annual Blue Night Auction. While Grandma and Elizabeth got all dolled up for the big event Uncle Bobby and Chris took Meg and Zach to the Celery Bog for a little hiking and of course treasure hunting (aka geocaching).

It was a beautiful day to be outside and there was lots to see. A number of swan and geese had their babies with them and the ducks had nests along the shore so more baby fowls are sure to come. We found 2 geocaches, the Thomas Say's Purdue Entomology Cache and the Looking at Wally World. The later cache was one of the best hiding jobs I had ever seen, but Uncle Bobby would not be deterred and eventually found it.

Birthdays Everywhere

kids by century plantIt seems like April is the month for birthdays... Saturday we celebrated our neighbor's 80th birthday. Sunday we went to the Garfield Park Conservatory. They were celebrating the 100th birthday of the conservatory. We saw lots of cool things there. More birthdays this week...

Geocaching in the Savannah

Geocaching in the Savannah Today we introduce a couple of Meg and Zach's friends to geocaching. We were searching for the Raccoon Cache located in a savannah in Hodgkins.

The kids had a great time exploring and I think we have two new treasure hunters on our hands!
